Did you know that Slugg is 100% Carbon Neutral?

“What does carbon neutral even mean?”, we hear you ask. Ah! Well good question! Let us explain!

Every business produces carbons, it’s impossible not to. But what we can do is work as hard as possible to reduce our carbon footprint. Following an intensive 18 month audit carried out by a Climate Active auditor, we identified opportunities to reduce our footprint. We’re proud to say that we’ve made some massive changes in all aspects of our business, from our manufacturing process to our supply chain and even how we run our office.

We then offset the remaining emissions footprint by investing in a Climate Active Certified renewable energy carbon offset project, Winds of Change.

If you don’t already know, wind power is pretty damn amazing. Not only does wind power significantly reduce carbon emissions, it also saves billions (yes, BILLIONS) of gallons of water a year and cuts pollution that creates smog and causes health issues. And on top of all that, by investing in this project, Slugg is also helping to create employment in the emerging renewable energy industry and help to stimulate local business development!

Slugg is proud to invest in Winds of Change in China and India. Although not traditionally the most environmentally friendly, China and India are taking huge steps towards a greener future!

Wind Power Projects constructed across China introduce clean energy into the nation's rapidly expanding power grid, which has traditionally been dominated by fossil fuel-fired power plants. The location of these renewable energy power plants is strategically important with many located on power grids that supply China's main population centres, such as China's capital city, Beijing.

Across India, wind farms introduce clean energy to the grid which would otherwise be generated by coal-fired power stations. Wind power is clean in two ways: it produces no emissions and also avoids the local air pollutants associated with fossil fuels. Electricity availability in the regions has been improved, reducing the occurrence of blackouts across the area.

  • 1. Drainage

    Place a single layer of drainage screen directly over the drain hole.

  • 2. Pot setup

    Once you have chosen the location for your pots, place four pot feet on the ground and position the pot on top.

  • 3. Potting mix

    Cover the piece of drainage screen with a good quality potting mix and fill the pot to the desired level and gently compact in layers.

  • 4. Plant it

    Carefully remove the plant from its nursery pot. Put the plant in your prepared garden pot, ensuring the potting mix soil sits at the same level as the soil in the nursery pot.
